Power BI Developer We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to support a key modernization initiative focused on transforming operations through the implementation of new tools, data processes, workflows, and AI technologies. This role will be responsible for migrating legacy reports, developing new reporting solutions in Power BI, and contributing to overall reporting modernization efforts. While many reports may be tabular in nature, the ability to deliver clear, effective visualizations remains important for select use cases. The ideal candidate brings strong Power BI and SQL skills, hands-on experience with data modeling and DAX, and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams in a fast-paced, Agile environment. ______________________________________ Key Responsibilities Migrate existing Business Objects reports to Power BI, ensuring data integrity, usability, and performance. Design and develop new reports in Power BI, including both tabular and visual formats based on business needs. Develop efficient data models and DAX calculations to support dynamic and scalable reporting solutions. Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable reports. Perform thorough data validation and ensure accuracy across platforms and data sources. Track and manage work using Jira within an Agile delivery framework. Document data logic, data models, business rules, and report usage to support long-term maintainability. Apply BI best practices for performance optimization, reusability, and governance. Support data integration efforts or light ETL tasks when needed. ________________________________________ Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (required), including data modeling and DAX. Proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data (required). Familiarity with additional BI tools such as Tableau and Business Objects (preferred). Experience with Jira and Agile development methodologies. Strong attention to detail and ability to independently troubleshoot data/reporting issues. Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical users. ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Experience with report modernization or migration from legacy platforms. Familiarity with ETL tools and workflows (e.g., Alteryx). Exposure to cloud data platforms such as AWS or Azure. Background in insurance, financial services, or operations reporting is a plus. ________________________________________ Certifications Power BI or other BI/data tool certifications preferred. Agile or Jira-related certifications are a plus.
