Job Description Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer, the Director, U.S. Privacy Compliance Lead is responsible for developing, maintaining, and maturing all aspects of AbbVie's U.S. data privacy compliance obligations. The role supports all U.S. data privacy matters for AbbVie's commercial and corporate functions and collaborates with the global privacy compliance program to enhance enterprise data enablement and risk mitigation.
Manage and provide strategic leadership for the development and ongoing maturity of AbbVie's U.S. privacy compliance program, aligning with the global privacy program.
Provide strategic and operational support for commercial (e.g., Aesthetics, Therapeutics) and corporate functions (e.g., R&D, HR, operations), including incident response, data governance, and strategy.
Develop and oversee privacy maturity metrics, assessments, and reporting, supporting global privacy metrics as well.
Oversee AbbVie's HIPAA compliance program.
Lead the U.S. privacy compliance team and participate in the Chief Privacy Officer’s leadership team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, marketing, security, and third-party risk management.
Partner with Legal Privacy on relevant issues.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least 10 years of experience in privacy or corporate compliance programs.
Deep knowledge of U.S. privacy laws including state laws, HIPAA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM Act, and FTC frameworks.
Experience with global data protection regulations, including GDPR.
Experience in digital advertising and biopharmaceutical industry privacy matters.
Preferred experience with health information privacy.
Additional Information The salary range is $156,000 - $296,500, depending on location and experience. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and participation in incentive programs. Compensation is at the company's discretion and subject to change.
