Sr. Infrastructure Engineer - Unix (Remote) (Finance)
Job Overview:
The Sr. Infrastructure Engineer is a key member of the IT infrastructure team responsible for cloud, data center, and distribution center environments. This role involves designing and engineering scalable, secure IT infrastructure solutions. Additionally, the engineer acts as a mentor, works to remove constraints, and addresses problems proactively, including root cause analysis and solutions delivery.

Job Responsibilities:
Gather and document IT infrastructure and security requirements in collaboration with Cybersecurity and other technical teams.
Provide technical leadership and knowledge transfer within your domain.
Assist in developing technical standards and architecture.
Partner with IT teams to develop automation tools and concepts.
Collaborate on projects involving IT infrastructure planning, configuration, and optimization.
Evaluate, select, implement, and optimize enterprise infrastructure solutions aligned with the organization’s evolving tech stack.
Participate in defining project approaches and ensure timely delivery of engineering tasks.
Use technical expertise to inform decision-making and solve complex problems.
Implement preventative maintenance and self-healing measures to minimize incidents.
Mentor and coach engineers, administrators, and developers on infrastructure standards and best practices.
Lead solutions action plans informally.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent IT experience and education.
Experience:
6-10 years in large-scale environments (minimum 5,000 employees or equivalent service provider).
6-10 years with Unix OS (RedHat, AIX, Solaris), scripting, virtualization, security, and infrastructure tools.
3+ years working with managed service providers.
Experience with REDHAT Satellite, multiple RHEL versions (3.x - 9.x), B2B applications like Sterling Integrator, and audit tools like IBM ILMT.
Experience with virtual networks, hybrid datacenter technologies such as VMware, Solaris, AIX, AWS.
Experience in complex network environments with legacy systems.
At least 3 years with configuration management software (Terraform preferred, others like Puppet, Chef, Ansible a plus).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work independently, plan, and delegate tasks.
Strategic thinking and big-picture planning.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative mindset and team leadership capabilities.
Good judgment, especially in situations with limited supervision.
