Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for planning, directing, or coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with people, safety, quality, cost, and quantity specifications. Coordinates production activities, ensures quality products are produced, compounding is efficient. This person works under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing. The Operations Manager may be responsible for various departments within the organization including production, quality and compounding, but must be experienced to lead other departments or areas as needed.

Essential Functions

Uses empowerment, trust and other strategies as appropriate to develop and motivate team members. Ensures a positive work environment Mentors and directs Managers, Supervisors and Coordinators to ensure a safe, qualitative, and efficient processes Ensures that company policies and procedures are communicated and followed Communicate expectations, assignments, and responsibilities clearly and professionally Maintains one to ones with all direct reports Resolves employee relations issues immediately and notifies Director of Manufacturing/HR of critical issues Identify performance strengths and needs of the plant and communicate with management and assists with plan to reward and/or corrections Observes processes for safety and ensures all are adhering to safety procedures Interviews, Hires and Trains new employees, and provides coaching, feedback and performance reviews to current staff. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow Assign duties and examine work for efficiency Ensures that all staff have completed training through the safety program in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations. Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to the Director of Manufacturing in order to upgrade and maintain plant productivity and efficiency. Works with all departments within the company to support manufacturing quality products Reviews processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments considering budgetary limitations and time constraints Prepare and maintain production reports or personnel records Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality Develops and/or maintains dashboards to record and communicate safety, quality, & productivity levels Works with the quality manager to improve the quality process and ensures that goals are defined and met within plant Works with the compounding department to ensure efficiencies, establish goals and ensure they are met within the plant

Ability to: Resolve complex issues and ensure that the production floor is running efficiently Meeting KPIs and resolving roadblocks quickly

Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

5+ yrs in warehouse/manufacturing environment 4+ yrs of progressive leadership experience- supervisory to management Read, write and communicate in English Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suites Efficient computer/software user Strong written and verbal communication skills Associates Degree or higher preferred, experience considered Seniority level
