Job Overview American Dirt LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Earthworks Site Utility - Estimator/Project Manager to join our dynamic construction management team. This unique, dual-role position offers the opportunity to drive both preconstruction estimating and project execution in a fast-growing commercial construction environment. You will lead project takeoffs, bidding strategies, client relationship management, and field project oversight - all while contributing to our company's commitment to transparency, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities Make business decisions with integrity, transparency, and care. Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Uphold American Dirt's high standards and safety expectations. Business Development
Identify and approach potential new clients. Strategize client outreach and relationship-building. Track leads and interactions in a CRM platform.
Perform accurate takeoffs and create detailed, precise proposals. Master estimating tools (PlanSwift). Achieve bid hit rates of 15-35%. Maintain estimated accuracy between -15% to +5%. Track bid data for non-awarded projects. Conduct internal bid reviews for 100% of submissions. Project Management
Plan, coordinate, and manage assigned projects. Review subcontract agreements and manage submittals. Oversee job costing, field time approval, and aggressive invoicing. Maintain proactive, clear communication with project stakeholders. Conduct regular job site safety audits and foster field staff engagement.
Production Management
Track and manage project schedules. Motivate and support field staff, ensuring optimal productivity. Collect and document production rates to improve estimating accuracy. Communicate daily with the Field Superintendent and project teams.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction estimating and project management is preferred. High School Diploma or GED required; advanced certifications or training preferred. OSHA 10 certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire), OSHA 30 preferred. (Able to show proof) Proven ability to lead, plan, and execute multiple commercial projects. Expertise in construction takeoffs, estimating software (PlanSwift), and cost controls. Proficiency with project management tools such as Trello, ClockShark, QuickBooks, etc. Excellent organizational, communication, and client relationship-building skills. Strong commitment to safety and quality. Ability to foster teamwork and field staff morale. Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends/overtime as needed.
