SUMMARY The Manager, SEO will lead a team of Specialists who execute localized Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaigns, driving organic growth and enhancing clients’ digital performance. This individual will have extensive knowledge of SEO and experience in listings and online reputation management. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive SEO strategies, mentoring a team of SEO Specialists, and collaborating across practices to deliver integrated marketing solutions. The ideal candidate brings expertise in content strategy, listings/review management, keyword research, technical SEO, UX, and analytics, along with a strong understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors. This individual will manage multi-location SEO for high-profile client accounts, ensure alignment between strategic objectives and tactical execution, and lead a team of client-facing SEO specialists. They are skilled in performance monitoring, KPI development, and leading client conversations—especially in dynamic, enterprise-level environments. They are well-versed in providing strong, professional, client-facing customer service. KEY OUTCOMES & RESPONSIBILITIES Key Outcome:

Lead a team responsible for day-to-day SEO/Listings management, driving performance through hands-on execution, analysis, and strategic optimization. Key Responsibilities: • Assist Senior Director and Director in evolving and creating efficiencies in our on-site and listings optimization strategy, including workflows and standard operating procedures • Manage team operation of multi-site, multi-location localized SEO campaigns, engaging in keyword research, listings & review management, on-page optimization, copywriting, technical SEO problem-solving, site audits, and strategic evaluations. • Lead team of SEO specialists and copywriters who will be consistently client-facing, including educating, consulting and implementing optimizations via engaged conversations with clients • Evaluates results and client analytics in alignment with performance goals and measurement frameworks to provide strategic insights and deliver reports that drive campaign success. • Authors thought leadership material (blog posts, white papers, speaking opportunities, etc.) Key Outcome:

Drive strategic SEO performance by identifying opportunities, shaping solutions, and aligning cross-functional teams to deliver on client goals. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the collaboration and education with Activation, Analytics, Account Service and Integrated Planning teams to identify new opportunities in the SEO space for current and existing clients based on an understanding of client objectives, goals and known barriers • Evaluate and recommend SEO partners, technology and platforms that best support client needs and agency growth. • Guides comprehensive SEO audits and develops strategic roadmaps with clear timelines and deliverables. • Guides SEO-driven copywriting, tag, review, and listings optimizations • Maintains deep knowledge of SEO best practices, algorithm changes, keyword development tools, and industry research. Keeps the SEO team up to date with SEO best practices, keyword development tools and industry research • Evaluates and contributes to organization-wide SEO best practices, guidelines, objectives and documented regulations • Collaborate and evaluate with client and partner development teams to ensure SEO best practices are followed when implementing recommendations. Works within client compliance protocols. Key Outcome: Engage, retain, and enable performance of talent Key Responsibilities: · Contribute and proactively manage talent plans. Assess, hire, on-board, and grow role-appropriate talent · Manage a team; set clear, outcome-based performance goals. Establish and maintain development plans for each. · Provide effective feedback that enables employees to improve and work toward goals, while seeking feedback from team to enable inclusion and continuous improvement · Remove barriers to enable team outcomes · Provide opportunities for growth and development, while mentoring and inspiring employees to unlock their full potential QUALIFICATIONS Required o Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business or equivalent work experience o 5+ years of experience managing and leading campaigns in the paid and organic search ecosystem o 2+ years of leadership / supervisor experience o Strong leadership knowledge of SEO tactics such as: A|B testing, SEO audits, Keyword research, Site taxonomy, Information architecture, Link building, International SEO, Technical SEO, On-page SEO, Off-page SEO, UX/CRO o Listings and Review Management Experience such as: Google Business Profiles, Yext, Moz, Birdeye, SOCi o Working knowledge of search engine optimization practices o Experience bringing strategic plans to execution o Google Analytics certification required o Master’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. o Google Ads certification preferred o Agency experience CORE COMPETENCIES · CUSTOMER FOCUS/CLIENT INTIMACY: seeking to understand client business challenges/needs and delivering continuous value to our clients · COLLABORATIVE: working with teams and across the organization with ease · OWNER AGILITY: able to continuously learn and quickly adapt to changing circumstance · RESULTS DRIVEN: accepts accountability to deliver business outcomes, even under changing circumstances. COMPENSATION Butler/Till is committed to providing pay transparency of our compensation philosophy and ensuring equitable pay practices for our employee owners. The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $113,000 and represents the annual salary range in Rochester, NY. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. This is just one component of Butler/Till’s total compensation package for employee owners. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including ESOP (employee stock ownership plan), an annual bonus, in addition to a full benefits package, and paid time off benefits, including 100% paid parental leave.
