Project Leader 2 (Critical Infrastructure Solutions)
is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and leading project teams to deliver expert solutions across various complex projects and industries. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects valued between $5M and $20M+ in electrical, critical power, power distribution systems, and turnkey solutions, particularly related to renovation projects involving emergency and normal power distribution, lighting, lighting control, power feeders, and specialty systems. This role requires providing overall development, training, and leadership to junior project leaders, field superintendents, and trades personnel, focusing on strategic planning, implementation, and project ownership. Responsibilities
Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to project team members to foster collaboration and a positive work environment. Lead project documentation efforts, including resource planning, project layouts, scheduling, and equipment planning, supporting field staff as needed. Coordinate and lead project kick-off meetings. Develop Work Breakdown Structures with properly assigned work packages and resources to establish baseline plans. Conduct site surveys, cost studies, budget forecasting, and manage financial aspects of projects. Identify opportunities for cost savings, quality improvements, and best practices. Monitor project scope and performance to ensure adherence to budgets and schedules. Partner with clients to create and manage project schedules. Ensure timely completion of punch lists, as-built drawings, and employee training materials. Maintain positive relationships with leadership and support teams to meet project milestones. Manage permits, licenses, and inspections within designated timeframes. Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years in the construction or contracting industry with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields; preference for Electrical or Mechanical disciplines. Or 7+ years of management experience with a Master's degree in Construction Management or Engineering. Strong knowledge of project management, including installation, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and prioritization. At least 5+ years of experience managing complex projects in federal, local, commercial, government, or transportation sectors. Experience leading diverse teams on projects valued between $5M and $150M+ in electrical or power systems. Proficiency with software such as Bluebeam, Accubid, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to obtain security clearance if required. Desired Skills and Abilities
Attention to detail and strong writing skills. Exceptional proficiency in MS Excel and scheduling with MS Project. Technical proficiency in M.C. Dean's core disciplines. Ability to work extensively on computer screens, sit for long periods, and perform manual tasks with dexterity. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to understand and convey complex information.
