The Utility Investment Planning Project Manager will utilize extensive knowledge in electrical transmission and distribution systems to develop long-range investment plans for projects supporting electric utilities. The role involves supporting studies related to aging infrastructure, system resilience, reliability, and electrification. These studies aim to provide a comprehensive review of the system and develop financially justifiable long-term investment portfolios, aiding the electric industry in challenges related to integrating renewables and electrification. The project manager will develop engineering, statistical, and financial models to assess equipment failure risks within transmission and distribution systems, determining capital improvements to mitigate these risks. Collaboration with industry entities such as investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, and cooperatives is essential. The role includes business development, client engagement, proposal preparation, project management, and leading a team of consultants and engineers to deliver actionable results. Responsibilities
Manage all project aspects including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and financial performance. Develop and maintain client relationships, identify new sales opportunities, and lead proposal development. Lead project execution, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines. Mentor and train less experienced team members. Support company initiatives and contribute to business growth. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, accounting, finance, or related field. At least 5 years of relevant experience, including managing engineering or consulting projects for electric utilities. Deep knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems. Experience working with large data sets and analytical tools. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to travel up to 5%.
