M.C. Dean, Inc. Overview M.C. Dean is a leading provider of electrical engineering and systems integration services, specializing in automation systems. We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Deputy Project Leader to join our Automation Systems Business Unit. In this role, you will support the Project Leader in overseeing and managing automation systems projects across various applications including industrial controls, water/wastewater, power controls and protection, cybersecurity, energy management, building automation, and transportation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in automation systems, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to grow into a project leadership role. Responsibilities Project Support:

Assist the Project Leader in planning, coordinating, and executing automation systems projects. Collaborate with the project team to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables. Contribute to developing project plans, work breakdown structures, and schedules. Assist in monitoring project progress, addressing issues, and managing risks and changes. Team Coordination:

Support the Project Leader in managing the project team, including engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. Assist in task assignment and ensure timely completion of deliverables. Foster a collaborative environment promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing. Documenting and Reporting:

Help maintain project documentation such as plans, reports, and correspondence. Support the preparation of status updates, progress reports, and client communications. Contribute to project presentations and documentation for stakeholders. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Assist in ensuring projects meet quality standards and industry regulations. Participate in inspections and audits to verify compliance. Help implement quality control processes. Budget and Resource Management:

Support in managing budgets, tracking expenses, and resource utilization. Collaborate with procurement to coordinate materials and subcontractors. Assist in monitoring financials for cost optimization. Automation Systems Knowledge:

Develop understanding of automation systems, PLC control, SCADA, metering, motor control centers, and related technologies. Stay updated with industry standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s in Engineering (preferably EE or related) with 5+ years of experience. Experience with construction or software projects ranging from $250,000 to $3M. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of contract drawings, subcontracts, specifications, change orders, RFIs, and submittals. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with MS Office, Blue Beam, PDF, and familiarity with CPM scheduling. Preferred Skills Experience with ProPricer estimating and Primavera P6 CPM scheduling. Willingness to travel as needed. Abilities Ability to work with extended computer screen time, sit for long periods, and manipulate objects with fingers. Effective listening, speaking, reading, and problem-solving skills.
