Overview This position serves as a construction quality assurance (QA) representative responsible for assisting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in executing construction projects along the U.S. borders. The QA representative should have experience in construction oversight, project control, and project closure, with a background in construction management. Strong communication skills, innovative problem-solving abilities, and creative thinking are essential. Position Details This is a full-time, temporary position lasting 12-36 months. Responsibilities Monitor field engineering activities during major military construction projects. Provide safety and quality assurance guidance, ensuring adherence to safety regulations. Review contractor schedules for logic and feasibility to meet milestones. Assess contractor payment estimates, progress reports, and material/equipment reports. Prepare daily activity reports including instructions, quantities, weather, progress, delays, and issues. Advise on safety and quality assurance across project teams. Ensure environmental Best Management Practices are followed. Support outreach efforts related to the construction project. Assist construction oversight manager and government project personnel as needed. Analyze technical problems and interpret plans and specifications. Oversee work layout and inspection of ongoing construction activities. Qualifications 3 to 10 years of experience and a bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience as specified. Construction oversight experience, including surveillance and control of horizontal construction projects. Preferred certifications: OSHA 30, MEWP, CQM, EM 385-1-1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software (Procore, Autodesk, etc.). Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to manage multiple projects, travel as needed, and work in a dynamic environment. Additional Details Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually. Must pass a government background investigation; U.S. citizenship required.
