The Project Manager will report to the T&D Manager of Projects and will be responsible for executing T&D projects and pursuits across multiple business lines within the region. This includes supporting Transmission Line, Distribution Modernization (DMod), Underground & Submarine Cables (UGSC), Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA), and other T&D Business Lines that require additional project management beyond their existing PM capacity. The Project Manager will oversee the pursuit process, build project execution teams, and manage project implementation. They will foster a culture of proactive communication, continuous improvement, and a strong focus on growth and profitability. Additionally, they will collaborate with the T&D Manager of Projects to develop strategies that enhance Burns & McDonnell's position, including establishing sales and business development plans aligned with growth objectives and facilitating collaboration across regional activities. Responsibilities
Lead the pursuit process for projects in emerging business lines, building a strong opportunity pipeline, acting as the capture manager, and steering opportunities through risk management. Oversee project metrics, monitor profitability, ensure quality control, and implement project management methodologies. Track schedule development, ensure compliance with timelines, and identify effective change management strategies. Coordinate with national management to align activities with organizational goals. Identify target client opportunities and oversee pursuit coordination with sales and seller-doers. Manage quality control efforts, scope, schedules, and budgets to mitigate risks. Support contract reviews, negotiations, and renewals. Ensure staff development, quality control, and resource coordination within the regional office. Support PMIT team members and uphold safety policies. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field. 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in transmission and distribution industry. Experience in client/business development, project management, and financial success. Strong facilitation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of project management tools. PE license preferred. This job posting remains open for at least 72 hours and until filled.
