A law firm seeks skilled Patent Agents and Technical Specialists to join its rapidly expanding intellectual property team in San Diego, CA. Duties
Draft and prosecute patent applications, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of complex technical innovations. Prepare persuasive legal arguments to address office actions and secure patent allowances while maintaining clean prosecution records. Monitor developments in patent law, including issues such as subject matter eligibility, and create strategic approaches to navigate these challenges. Collaborate with clients to understand and protect their intellectual property portfolios. Meet internal production goals and client budgetary expectations with efficiency and precision. Engage in mentorship and training opportunities within a collegial team environment. Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written legal documents, including patent applications and prosecution responses. Familiarity with current issues in patent law and a proactive approach to addressing evolving challenges. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused mindset. Education
A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in one of the following technical disciplines:
Electrical Engineering Computer Science Computer Engineering Data Science Physics Mechanical Engineering Materials Science
Certifications
For Patent Agent candidates, active registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required, with good standing. Skills
