Kern Valley Healthcare District **PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER**
***$80,000 - $110,000 per year***
Works directly under the CIO. Serves as manager over public relations, marketing, Hospital Auxiliary volunteers and Hospital Foundation liaison within the Kern Valley Healthcare District (KVHD); serves as the person responsible for implementing all community activities within Kern Valley Healthcare District along with the Foundation and Hospital Auxiliary.
ROLES And RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops annual advertising plan for KVHD their departments, and programs with the assistance of the Marketing Specialist. Represents KVHD in community organizations to keep them apprised of hospital activities and to identify community needs that are discussed at these venues. Works directly with Hospital's Foundation to coordinate their various activities, programs, and grants (such as Crabfest, Diabetic Cooking Class, River Rhythms etc.). Coordinates Foundation's annual installation dinner and the Hospital Auxiliary's annual volunteer appreciation luncheon. Plans and coordinates all special events and annual receptions including logistics, publicity, public relations, advertising and collateral material design, production, and distribution. Advises Administration and appropriate department managers on feedback received on hospital/department services. Coordinates with the Marketing Specialist on creating promotional materials for use at community events. Meets monthly with CIO to discuss/review strategic planning initiatives. Creates an environment with the Hospital Auxiliary and Hospital Foundation that promotes volunteer satisfaction and retention. Motivates and challenges volunteers to increase knowledge and to develop skills to accomplish position specific requirements. Meets monthly with Thrift Store Day Leaders providing support, reviewing procedures, addressing volunteer issues, etc. including annual training opportunities. Recruits, interviews, and hire volunteers to meet the needs of Kern Valley Hospital and Thrift Store. Develop programs to recognize the contributions of volunteers to the hospital and among the Auxiliary. Oversee the financial records of the Auxiliary working in coordination with KVHD's Controller. Coordinates an annual community newsletter and creates content like press releases, along with building relationships with media outlets and influencers. Oversees and directs the Marketing Specialist on website accuracy along with digital platforms accuracy and advertising campaigns for KVHD, Hospital Auxiliary, and Hospital Foundation. Leads the Employee Engagement Committee to plan events and activities for KVHD staff. Serves as a conduit between Administration and community resources for problems and issue resolutions that would impact public relations, or public perception of KVHD.
QUALIFICATIONS And SKILLS
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, present findings, and recommendations to boards, committees, and outside organizations. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms. 5 years' experience in Public Relations preferred. Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills. Provide excellent public relations and courteous customer service. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others including physicians, nurses, administrators, managers, vendors, contractors, and other community members
