General Overview of Position: ARCXIS is seeking Plumbing Designers and Engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled in Plumbing Design and Engineering of commercial structures. This includes many aspects of the production of Waste/Vent Designs, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematics, Fire Sprinklers, building storm water drainage, and Site Plumbing in AutoCAD. Plumbing Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one-stop shop solution to our partners' commercial design needs. Essential Functions of the Job: Produce Waste/Vent Design, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematic, Fire Sprinklers, building storm water drainage, and Site Plumbing in AutoCAD. Design Plumbing Engineering plans for single and multi-family, low and high-rise commercial structures, amenity centers, clubhouses, etc. Generate detailed Plumbing Design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of design plans for bidding and construction. Understand the design process from DD to CD. Coordinate and attend meetings for all project phases from initial phase to completion, including utility coordination and MEP internal coordination. Respond to all electrical RFI’s and/or Shop drawings per contractual deadlines. Communicate directly with clients for problems & resolutions, providing expert advice and project specifications. Provide estimated hours for new work based on estimated effort required. Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD. Work with design staff and drafters to complete projects. Competencies: Strong AutoCAD background (preferred 10+ years’ experience). Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams. Experience with Bluebeam. Ability to read blueprints in CAD and final plan sets. Detail oriented and self-motivated. Ability to work well with other engineers/designers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. Knowledge of codes including NSPC, ICC International Codes, and Uniform building codes. Ability to drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments across multiple projects simultaneously. Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels. Great multi-tasker. Strong computer skills. CPD certification is a plus. Education, Experience, and Qualifications: BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. 10-15+ years’ experience in Plumbing Design for commercial building systems, code compliance, and construction. Ability to work independently with little supervision from project kick-off to completion. Experience with Waste/Vent Design, Water Piping, Isometrics, Gas Schematic, Fire Sprinklers, building storm water drainage, and Site Plumbing/utility coordination. Experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed-use buildings, residential/commercial, and enclosed parking garages. Ability to refer to architectural, structural, plumbing, and electrical drawings for coordination purposes across all disciplines. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday day shift, with additional hours, including weekends, as required by changing business needs.
