Rice Memorial Hospital - Willmar, Minnesota Outreach:
1-4 days per month to regional site Position Details:
Full-time - 0.9 FTE, Weekday schedule - No nights, holidays, or weekends The Advanced Practice role at the Willmar Cancer Center is designed to support oncology patients, medical oncologists, and clinic workflow. Responsibilities include: Facilitating survivorship programming, including symptom management, breast surveillance, and post-treatment visits. Supporting same-day add-on patients experiencing adverse effects from treatment or disease. Performing in-person and virtual visits for cancer center patients and regional partners in oncology care. Providing supervision to patients receiving treatment in the Infusion Center (both oncology and non-oncology). Supporting benign hematology patients through consults and follow-up with referring providers. The ideal provider will have: A desire to care for patients with complex medical conditions, including conducting serious illness conversations to establish goals of care. An interest in caring for patients undergoing cancer treatment, end-of-life/palliative care, and symptom management. Strong communication skills to build relationships within a multidisciplinary team. Understanding of evidence-based practice and nursing research. Comfort with IV therapy. Willmar Cancer Center:
Provides comprehensive care with a wide range of treatment options, accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. Offers medical and radiation oncology services, transfusion medicine, phlebotomy, cancer data registry, clinical research, and radiology, including state-of-the-art linear accelerators. Qualifications: Current licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner (AGNP or FNP). Preferred experience in oncology or palliative care/hospice. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card and DEA registration prior to clinical privileges. New graduates with RN experience will also be considered.
