Office Location: Hybrid position (may be required to come into the office sometimes); Available for any of Partners' NC locations Closing Date: Open Until Filled Primary Purpose of Position: The System Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of Partners' computer systems and servers both on prem and cloud based. They will install hardware, software, patches, and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization. The System Administrator will also actively resolve problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company. Role And Responsibilities Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization. Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes. Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as PowerShell or Bash to streamline system provisioning, patching, monitoring, and other routine administrative tasks. Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues. Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. Responsible for IT components of Partners Business Continuity plan including but not limited to, backing up and testing backups of systems and data, maintaining backup data center readiness. Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance. Provide new hardware specifications based on application needs and anticipated growth; installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure. Defines procedures for monitoring and evaluates, diagnoses and establishes work plans to resolve system issues. Support the implementation and ongoing management of Arctic Wolf as the organization's SIEM and security operations platform, ensuring proactive system health monitoring, threat detection, and incident response capabilities. Perform troubleshooting for complex hardware, software and network problems. Develop and promote standard operating procedures and making recommendations for new or modified policies and procedures as needed. Responsible for the strict adherence to all Federal and State Laws, Rules and Regulations including but not limited to the following: HIPAA, SOC, HITECH, FERPA, etc. and Industry Recognized Security Standards (ex. NIST). Performs other job-related tasks as required. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols. Experience working with cloud based (Azure) administration and systems. Experience with scripting and automations tools. A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans. Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols. Knowledgeable of Federal and State rules and regulation pertaining to security and privacy (HIPAA, HITECH, FERPA), along with the recognized security frameworks like NIST IAM (Identity & Access Management), cost optimization, monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM templates). Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across DevOps, Security, and Application teams. Demonstrated strengths in problem-solving, adaptability, and customer service orientation. Education/Experience Required Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required. 5 years of system administration, network administration, or database administration experience. Experience in cloud based system administration and maintenance (Azure) Education/Experience Preferred System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus 2 years Database support and development experience a plus Azure system administration experience.
