Responsibilities:
Actively trade cash power markets, focusing on Northeast and ERCOT regions, with a strong emphasis on short-term and up-to-three-month curve trading. Develop, execute, and refine proprietary trading strategies that go beyond asset hedging, aiming to optimize risk-adjusted returns. Analyze fundamental and technical market drivers, including supply-demand dynamics, weather patterns, regulatory shifts, and congestion trends. Monitor real-time market conditions and react swiftly to capitalize on opportunities while effectively managing risk exposure. Collaborate with risk management, quantitative analysts, and structuring teams to enhance trading strategies and market insights. Leverage deep knowledge of ISOs, including PJM, NYISO, ERCOT, and NEPOOL, to identify and exploit inefficiencies in power markets. Maintain and enhance relationships with counterparties, brokers, and internal stakeholders to improve market access and trade execution. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal risk limits while maximizing trading opportunities. Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in power trading, with a strong background in cash trading and a positive PnL track record. Deep understanding of Northeast and ERCOT market structures, pricing mechanisms, and trading dynamics. Proven ability to think strategically and communicate a clear, well-reasoned trading approach. Experience navigating ISO rules and regulatory frameworks that impact short-term power trading. Banking experience is a plus but not required. Seniority level
