We are expanding to a second Izzio Artisan Bakery facility in Thornton, CO. We are looking for an experienced FSQA Manager to oversee the Food Safety & Quality Assurance department. This role is responsible for the bakerys compliance with federal, state, local, customer, SQF and Food Safety requirements. In addition, this position develops and implements quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards, customer specification, regulatory requirements and production goals. Essential Functions Manages FSMA/HACCP based Food Safety and Quality systems to ensure compliance with GFSI (SQF) and FDA regulatory requirements. Responsible for creating a strong culture of quality through process execution and enhancement, including advocating for quality throughout the product lifecycle. Investigate root causes for non-conformance events and drive corrective actions. Manage a highly effective team, including providing coaching, feedback, and support to build a highly performing and engaged team with a deep bench of expertise and knowledge. Provide the quality team with all necessary tools, training, equipment and technology required to be successful. Escalate opportunities quickly, accurately, and to the right audience so they can be resolved efficiently and effectively. Management of the QA change control process, SOP preparation/revisions, and GMP training programs. Review, update, and create quality programs and policies in coordination with the Director of Quality and Director of Operations. Site leader (SQF Practitioner) for all regulatory/customer/3rd-party inspectors to ensure the facility, equipment and operations meet or exceed all regulatory food safety and quality requirements. Ensure facility and products comply with all regulatory and certification requirements including FDA, SQF, Kosher, Non-GMO, and Organic standards. Identify non-conforming products and lead decision making process for disposition of those products based on the risk to food safety and quality. As needed, conduct shelf-life studies on finished goods. Other tasks as required by supervisor. Manage Food Safety/Quality Assurance teams schedules to meet all expectations. Position Requirements: Associate degree in Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Nutrition, or related field, required. Bachelors Degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of related experience. Must have a minimum of 3 years in a management position. QA experience within Food Manufacturing Environment. Strong knowledge of FDA/GFSI Regulations. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and analysis techniques to maximize the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Critical thinking and decision-making skills to consider and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and choose the most appropriate course of action. Experience with RedZone a plus. Bi-lingual is a plus. HACCP, PCQI, and SQF Practitioner certifications. Must be flexible to reassignment within the North Denver area. Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality. Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions In this position there is a lot of walking, standing and bending. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. There is exposure to extreme temperatures (cold and hot). There is exposure to dust and food allergens. Personal protective Equipment is available upon request but is not required for this position. Lifting 50 pounds frequently. All Lifts over 50 Pounds require assisted lifting All machines are equipped with Protective guards. All safety protocols must be followed. Compensation is based on level of experience, including education, years of experience compared to requirement and food manufacturing industry experience.
