JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Research Operations Manager. This role leads a pioneering pediatric oncology research team focused on experimental therapeutics, fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities include managing operational, regulatory, and clinical aspects of research, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and innovation. The manager will oversee a team of 11, including regulatory specialists, research nurses, and coordinators, and act as a liaison between research teams, clinical partners, external sponsors, and institutional leadership. This is a managerial position. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Manage a diverse research team, ensuring performance and professional development. Provide mentorship and training, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Oversee staffing, workload, performance evaluations, and employee development in collaboration with HR. Research Operations & Compliance Lead experimental therapeutic clinical trials, ensuring adherence to GCP and regulatory standards. Develop and refine policies to enhance research efficiency, compliance, and patient safety. Ensure timely submission of regulatory documents, IRB protocols, and sponsor communications. Collaborate with investigators and stakeholders on research initiatives and operational troubleshooting. Financial & Resource Management Oversee budgets, financial analysis, and resource allocation. Monitor funding, salaries, and expenditures in coordination with financial officers. Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Collaboration Serve as liaison with investigators, sponsors, regulatory agencies, and leadership. Lead strategic initiatives to align research operations with institutional goals. Develop KPIs and metrics to evaluate and improve program success. Represent the team in institutional committees and strategic discussions. Patient-Centered Research & Clinical Integration Ensure integration of clinical care and research, maintaining a patient-centered approach. Develop strategies for patient recruitment, retention, and trial efficiency. Implement process improvements for high-quality, ethical research. This is a limited-term position funded for one year, with the possibility of renewal. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Experience 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience

Equivalency An equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
