Full-Time Position Summary: GP Strategies Government Solutions is seeking a versatile

Instructional Systems Designer & Technical Instructor

to support training development and delivery for a large aerospace client in Sylmar, CA. This hybrid role combines instructional systems design expertise with hands-on technical instruction, ensuring the development and facilitation of high-quality training programs that meet client and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Instructional Systems Design Apply instructional systems methodologies (e.g., ISD, ADDIE, SAT) to design and develop training programs. Conduct needs, job, audience, and task analyses to determine training requirements. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to gather content and validate instructional strategies. Design and develop instructor-led and web-based training using multimedia tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Creative Suite). Create engaging learning materials including manuals, job aids, video scripts, case studies, and assessments. Ensure training aligns with learning objectives and evaluates effectiveness through assessments and feedback. Maintain and update training materials to reflect changes in procedures, technology, or regulations. Instruction & Facilitation Deliver technical training in classroom and hands-on environments, covering topics such as aircraft structures, fastener installation/removal, bonding, sealing, and blueprint reading. Prepare training areas and materials to ensure readiness for instruction. Assess learner performance and provide feedback to support skill development and certification. Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements. Support on-the-job training (OJT), coaching, and mentoring as needed. Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3+ years of experience in instructional design and technical instruction, preferably in aerospace or defense. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Articulate Storyline 360. Strong technical acumen and ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Aerospace or military background in maintenance, structures, or engineering. Experience with SCORM-compliant eLearning and LMS platforms. Security clearance or ability to obtain one. Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS General physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on location of assignment. Assignment Location – Sylmar, CA Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting. Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.
