Organizational Context and Job Purpose
INEOS Organization: INEOS is a global manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, and oil products. It comprises 15 businesses each with a major chemical company heritage. Business Context: Ethylene oxide (EO) is an important building block for the preparation of a wide variety of EO derivatives (EODs), including various surfactants, as well as a host of other chemical intermediates. INEOS Oxide is one of the world’s leading producers of Ethylene Oxide (EO) and Ethylene Oxide Derivatives (EODs). Purpose of the Job: The Turnaround Manager will manage Turnarounds and smaller plant outages from planning through completion. Days will include interfacing with site engineers, operations, engineering firms, procurement, and construction contractors to design, procure, and repair equipment to meet the stated objective from the Turnaround Steering Team. Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Accountability 1: SHE Advises on safety expectations for the Turnaround and leads the team to achieve safety goals. Ensures new installations adhere to INEOS Group Guidance Notes. Ensures proper engagement with site SHE representatives and approvals of contractor safety plans. Maintain safety as the highest priority of the plant. Adhere to and uphold all safety policies and standards. Accountability 2: Turnaround Management Leads and directs the planning and execution of the turnaround. Oversees the implementation of the TAR processes approved by the steering team. Partners with the steering team and obtains decisions/guidelines if necessary. Clearly formulates the project assignment and communicates it to the project team. Ensures appropriate risk management, including risk-based scope assessments. Oversees cost responsibility. Manages coordination, formulation, and documentation of TAR targets (KPI). Delivers definition of clear roles and responsibilities in the respective TAR organization. Oversees the exchange of information between the groups involved. Manages the creation of an overall schedule. Determines the critical path. Provides oversight of the organization of meetings and reviews. Participates in the creation of procurement and contracting strategies. Initiates post TAR activities, such as billing and final documentation. Manages the closeout and documentation of drawings and equipment records upon completion of the Turnaround. Skills/Competencies
Level of Education & Experience: BS Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. 10 years of chemical plant experience. Experience executing >1 Turnarounds as a Turnaround Manager. Technical Skills: Broad basic technical knowledge in relevant specialist areas. Knowledge of the planning and implementation of shutdowns. Experience in project management, especially in leading project teams. MS Office (especially Excel), SAP PM, scheduling (e.g. MS Project). Basic knowledge of cost estimating and cost controlling. Behavioral Skills: Goal-oriented and assertive. Willingness to take on responsibility. High resilience. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills. Proactive leadership and team building skills. Excellent organization skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. ADA Physical Requirements
Outside: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
