Job Summary

Weissman is looking for a Senior Copywriter to lead the voice of our brands—Weissman and Dancewear Solutions—through compelling storytelling, sharp copy, and creative leadership. In this role, you’ll guide a growing team of copywriters and collaborate closely with designers, art directors, merchandisers, and marketers to bring brand campaigns to life across digital, print, and social platforms. From product descriptions and catalog pages to emails, taglines, and video scripts, you’ll write copy that connects with our customers and reflects the energy of the dance world.

We're seeking a confident, collaborative writer with a passion for brand storytelling and a strong point of view. The ideal candidate has experience in fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands, and is equally comfortable crafting big-picture messaging and performance-driven copy. Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a growing team of copywriters, providing creative direction, editorial feedback, and professional development support. Develop and maintain a distinct and consistent brand voice for Weissman and Dancewear Solutions across all platforms and materials. Write a wide range of marketing content including campaign taglines, product descriptions, collection stories, emails, landing pages, catalogs, social media posts, and video scripts. Translate business strategies, seasonal themes, and customer insights into compelling messaging that supports marketing and merchandising goals. Collaborate with designers, art directors, merchandisers, and marketing team members to concept and execute multi-channel brand campaigns. Craft product copy that highlights design features, fabric details, and customer benefits, making each piece inspiring and purchase-driven. Participate in campaign planning meetings, creative brainstorms, and content calendar development to contribute fresh ideas and creative solutions. Apply performance data and customer feedback to optimize content for clarity, engagement, and conversion, including A/B testing when appropriate. Monitor trends in dance, fashion, branding, and youth culture to ensure copy stays relevant, engaging, and in tune with the audience. Uphold high editorial standards by reviewing, editing, and refining content to ensure accuracy, tone consistency, and brand alignment.

Qualifications

A portfolio is required to be considered for this role. Please include a link or attach your portfolio when submitting your application. 10+ years of professional copywriting experience, ideally within fashion, lifestyle, or consumer brands, with at least 3 years in a leadership or mentorship capacity. Proven track record in developing advertising, promotional, and content strategies for both B2B and B2C audiences. Skilled at shifting between high-level brand storytelling and focused, conversion-driven messaging with ease. A meticulous editor with a keen eye for grammar, tone, and voice—yes, we noticed whether you caught the Oxford comma. A collaborative, creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Deeply passionate about storytelling and energized by the opportunity to shape how a brand communicates. Bonus points if you bring a background or strong interest in dance, fashion, or performance apparel.
