TITLE: ANALYTICS AND RISK - FRAUD STRATEGY PROGRAM MANAGER

STATUS: EXEMPT REPORT TO: VICE PRESIDENT – ANALYTICS AND RISK - FRAUD DEPARTMENT: ANALYTICS-RISK JOB CODE: 11919 PAY RANGES: $122,900.00 - $140,000.00 ANNUALLY GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Analytics-Risk, Fraud Strategy Manager is responsible for the development of risk/return strategies, reporting and analytics supporting Golden 1 Credit Union’s fraud analytics strategy to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent activities across the organization. You will leverage analytics to provide data-driven insights to continuously enhance our fraud detection capabilities and ensure the security of our customers’ financial assets. PURPOSE STATEMENT: Efficiently and effectively analyze fraud incidents and build strategies to prevent them via proactive measures. Collaborate cross-functionally and analyze fraud risk associated with current processes; evaluate and tune current processes to reduce fraud and improve member experience. Ensure the financial safety and soundness of Golden 1 through the active management of product guidelines and economic returns to enable sustainable growth. TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS: Fraud Risk Strategy:

Develop and implement key fraud risk strategies for lending and/or deposit products. Identify fraud risks to the organization via deep dive into data and cross functional collaboration. Maintain a deep understanding of fraud typologies (e.g. synthetic identity, account takeover, payment fraud, new account fraud). Fraud Analytics:

Leverage diverse sources of transactional and account level data to develop insights into fraud trends. Utilize advanced analytics and statistical methods to analyze transactional and account-level data to detect anomalies and data patterns for fraud detection and prevention. Reporting and Analytics:

Continuously monitor the performance of fraud detection models and analytics tools, optimizing them to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Design and deliver accurate and timely reporting, dashboards, and visualizations to key stakeholders, enabling them to monitor performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions. Prepare and present regular reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders on fraud analytics performance, findings, and recommendations. Risk Assessment and Mitigation : Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate fraud risks, stay abreast of emerging threats and industry trends. Efficiency:

Identify opportunities to streamline risk processes, driving automation, efficiency, and improved member experience. Industry Monitoring:

Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in fraud risk management, and implement relevant changes to enhance risk monitoring and reporting. Regulatory Compliance:

Stay abreast of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements related to financial services products. Credit Risk Management Committee:

Develop action plans for discussion and voting in CRMC related to market conditions and associated impacts on fraud risk. Teamwork:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, finance, operations, and IT, to align around business outcomes and foster effective partnerships to deliver defined outcomes.Represent credit union in contacts with business and trade associations, members, and regulatory agencies. Attend civil functions and otherwise promote the credit union’s image.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS: Effective oral and written communication skills.Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine, and telephone.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline EXPERIENCE:

Seven years of professional experience with five years or more of analytics and/or risk management experience with an emphasis on consumer lending, retail, or business financial services products. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Demonstrated excellence at putting plans into action to achieve mutually agreed upon goals in a fast-paced professional environment. Leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with fraud typologies in consumer lending, ACH, wires, cards, and Zelle/P2P platforms. Understanding of the various fraud scenarios within retail financial products and digital/analog operations. Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to leverage data and customer insights to inform product, risk, pricing, and marketing strategies. Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex findings for business and senior leadership audiences. An ability to effectively synthesize analytic results into concise and impactful business cases with clear recommendations. Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with fraud platforms (e.g. Verafin, Actimize, Falcon, etc) and 3rd party fraud tools/models. Fluency with statistical and data manipulation tools such as SQL, SAS, R and/or Python. Experience with data visualization tools is highly desirable. Experience with predictive models, e.g. regression models, decision trees, time series analysis. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.Corrected vision within the normal range.Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.Extensive travel by car or public conveyance for out-of-area locations or across the United States.
