Job Duties & Responsibilities
Itron empowers its customers to be flexible and make intelligent decisions in managing their energy solutions. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will provide support to our customers by diagnosing, reproducing, and resolving incidents related to Itron products. You will mentor technical support engineers in troubleshooting methodologies and product knowledge. You will troubleshoot the Itron platform across various environments and take ownership of problem isolation and resolution. To succeed, you must be a motivated self-starter, committed to ongoing self-education, possess strong communication skills, and have excellent technical problem-solving skills.
Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a technical support role supporting enterprise products, preferably with networking, security, and/or wireless technology companies
2+ years of experience working with UNIX/Linux, scripting skills are a plus
2+ years of experience with Java-based applications
2+ years supporting client/server applications and relational databases; understanding schemas, database structures, and SQL querying skills
1+ year of networking experience, understanding packet flows and TCP sessions
Experience with SOAP / Web Services
Experience with RF networking
Ability to create support articles to enhance customer and peer knowledge
Strong troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication skills with customers and internal teams
Experience supporting software enterprise environments
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction
High-energy personality with a drive to excel in a corporate environment
Ability to become an expert in Itron applications and understand their integration
Manage incidents effectively within the incident management system
Strong time management and prioritization skills
A proven customer-first attitude and ethical approach
Ability to mentor and coach technical support engineers
Education
A two or four-year college technical degree or equivalent experience is required.
Additional Details
Liberty Lake, WA: Salary range $75,000 - $148,000
San Jose, CA: Salary range $100,000 - $188,000
