DB2 Database Administration Support
to join our team in Salem, Oregon (US-OR), United States (US). Responsibilities include: Supporting databases in various environments. Installing, configuring, planning, and maintaining systems. Developing and administering company reporting and data extraction requirements. Designing and implementing database security policies and procedures. Ensuring data accuracy and availability. Conducting performance tuning on relational databases and servers. Evaluating new database technologies and tools. Setting database system and programming standards. Applying database technology to business problems. Managing development and production database environments with emphasis on security, availability, and performance. Qualifications: Skilled in managing DB2 databases on multiple platforms and environments. Experience with managing and maintaining database technologies on enterprise-class IBM pSeries systems running AIX. Familiarity with IBM Power Systems, including AIX or Linux OS. Understanding of virtualization technologies like PowerVM. Skills in optimizing databases for performance on Power Systems. Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting performance issues. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl. Experience with automation tools for database management. Skills in integrating DB2 databases with other systems. Experience in migrating databases to or from Power Systems. Management of WebLogic and/or WebSphere servers. Supporting a standardized AIX environment in an enterprise setting is desirable. Strong technical analytical skills in a data-center environment. Minimum Requirements: At least 8 years of experience in a DB2 environment. Minimum 5 years of experience in Database Administration and Development in an AS/400 DB2 environment. Minimum 5 years of experience as a DBA with Oracle. Minimum 5 years of experience as a DBA with IBM-DB2/400. Minimum 5 years of experience in Performance Tuning. Compensation and Benefits: The starting pay range for this remote role is $75,000 to $130,000, depending on experience, location, and qualifications. The position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
