The

VP of Operational Effectiveness and Innovation

will lead and inspire a diverse and collaborative team who will focus on operational effectiveness and innovation topics, including but not limited to US Data Strategy & Systems, Data Driven Innovation and Analytics, Field Strategy & Planning, Field Force Effectiveness (including Commercial and Medical Training and Meetings & Events), Commercial Operations and Medical Operations supporting all TAs (Neurology & Immunology, Oncology, and Fertility and Endocrinology. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the VP will lead and oversee the strategy and execution of operational effectiveness activities across all therapeutic areas for both Commercial and Medical Operations in the US organization. Lead an integrated team to ensure the formation of organizational data strategy and selection of data systems to ensure high quality and insightful data for downstream analysis. Lead an integrated team to guide field planning & analytics and to address areas of opportunity for field teams across the organization, identify areas of innovation as it relates to enhancing our Field Force effectiveness, and work with sales leadership and brand teams to execute recommendations. Lead an integrated team to drive patient, healthcare providers and account focus analytics, ensure efficient and automated data-driven solutions, and level up our leadership in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Lead an integrated team to elevate the training, development, capability building across the US Commercial and Medical Operations teams. Lead an integrated team to elevate field support to guide field strategy, targeting, planning, and execution across therapeutic areas and sharpen focus on customer excellence topics in an innovative and collaborative approach. Provide ongoing operational analytics and insights on field execution and market trends for both Commercial and Medical Affairs, and work with Senior Management to further enhance our operational effectiveness as an organization. Work directly with US Business Franchises and US Medical Affairs to support launch readiness and successful launch execution. Play an active role in the development of new capabilities within the Operational Effectiveness and Innovation team and identify and implement ongoing process excellence, innovation, vendor selection and management, dashboarding, digital data presentation and capability building initiatives. Lead critical initiatives to meet the needs of the evolving healthcare landscape and identify opportunities to innovate in areas of operational effectiveness for US Commercial and Medical Affairs. Create a culture of data driven, continuously improving, and innovative business process design across therapeutic areas. Manage and enhance current cross-functional operational processes that enable effective execution. Collaborates with cross functional teams, Leadership Teams and key internal business partners to ensure successful assessment, execution, and sustainability of operational effectiveness and innovation workstreams. Ensures effective stakeholder engagement and communication (at all levels of the organization). Ensures timelines are adhered to and engages senior leadership with respect to significant risks, issues, or barriers. Leads the team responsible for generation of Commercial and Medical operational metrics, KPIs, and summary reports to support reporting to the Leadership Team. Contribute to creating and communicating a team culture and value proposition which attracts, retains, and demonstrate a commitment to the development of the diverse and effective team members and next generation of operational excellence experts. Lead team to synthesize data from multiple sources to convey cohesive and data-driven insights and contribute to realistic, actionable, and measurable recommendations. Effectively manage budget and optimize resources, change management, transformation, and overall leadership. Understand the legal and compliance environment and drive collaboration with the Legal/Compliance team. Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 10+ years of experience or PhD with 8+ years of experience A minimum of 6 years of people leadership experience Effective leader and team player who can build credibility and confidence within and outside the company; inspire, motivate, and drive results Preferred Qualifications: Visionary and forward thinking with the ability to influence and effectively drive organizational change and continuous innovation Executive leadership presence and confidence, excellent communicator both verbally and in writing Passionate about mentoring and developing people Visibly demonstrates a positive mindset and attitude, embraces and demonstrates a diversity and inclusion mindset and role models these behaviors for the organization Comfortable challenging the status quo and bringing forward innovative solutions Proven strong strategic and analytical thinking, demonstrated excellence in driving organization initiatives and institutionalizing operational process improvement Ability to distill complex issues and ideas down to simple comprehensible terms and solutions Ability to make highly complex decisions that impact the organization Ability to seek diverse input from multiple constituents and stakeholders to drive innovative solutions Ability to take risks implementing innovative solutions, accelerating time to market Ability to work in a global ecosystem (internal and external) with a high degree of complexity Breadth of knowledge required across therapeutic areas, indications, and/or modalities Comfort with ambiguity and effectively driving projects forward in ambiguous or challenging situations Experience working within a complex organization and the ability to influence and work effectively with various business partnerships, regions, and cultures Establish and define a clear value proposition for the opportunity that maximizes the benefit to customers and patients and therefore the portfolio’s value through the development of the opportunity and ensure the aligned implementation across the departments
