Position Summary
The Manager, Materials is a critical leader within our Supply Chain organization, responsible for driving supply planning and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure raw materials and packaging components are available when and where they’re needed. This role oversees planning, procurement, inventory control, and material flow across our pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution operations to enable consistent, compliant production. Through strategic coordination and operational excellence, this leader supports our mission to expand access to high-quality, affordable medication for the patients who rely on us.
Duties And Responsibilities
Owns and manages the MRP system and item master data within enterprise resource planning platforms, ensuring planning accuracy through artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted demand signals, lead times, and safety stock recommendations. Oversees production planning activities such as capacity planning, material allocation, and work order scheduling with a focus on data integrity, responsiveness, and effective cross-functional communication. Collaborates with production, procurement, quality, and supply chain teams to coordinate material flow, mitigate shortages, and support continuous manufacturing operations through real-time data and alignment. Resolves material-related issues impacting production and customer deliveries using root cause analysis, trend identification, and AI-enhanced tracking to enable proactive risk mitigation. Maintains optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolescence; ensure accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to drive alignment across departments and lead cross-functional planning initiatives. Proficiency in S&OP, MRP systems, and enterprise resource planning platforms, with demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.

Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, including planning, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), warehousing, and distribution, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role required. Bachelor’s degree in operations, Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or in the life sciences required. Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS) certification preferred, including Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and Lean Six Sigma certification. Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
