The Events Program Planning Manager will support the Irregular Warfare Center (IWC) by leading the planning, coordination, and execution of domestic and international events, seminars, and engagements. This mid-to-senior level role involves managing the event planning lifecycle, supervising support personnel, standardizing practices, and ensuring alignment with IWC’s strategic objectives. The role requires travel support for international programs and representing IWC to stakeholders. Responsibilities
Oversee planning and execution of domestic and international events for IWC. Research vendors, make contractor recommendations, and evaluate support options. Improve planning practices for efficiency and quality. Manage event planning staff and interns, including training and evaluations. Develop SOPs and training materials for event staff. Lead reviews and ensure lessons learned are applied. Coordinate travel logistics and onsite requirements. Provide weekly updates to stakeholders. Represent IWC at events and foster relationships with partners. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, International Relations, or related field. 4-6 years of experience managing large-scale events, including 2+ years supporting U.S. Government or DoD. Leadership experience in supervising event teams. Proven track record in executing high-level events with multimedia tools. Experience in SOP development, AARs/IPRs, and training programs. Vendor sourcing and cost analysis skills. Willingness to travel internationally. Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with officials and stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; active Secret clearance required. Additional Information
