Information Technology is one of the fastest-growing teams within UWM, and we need a rock star IT Instructional Designer Specialist to get our team members up and running at the highest level! Our Instructional Designers are responsible for the progression of team members in IT by creating training materials to aid in facilitation and learning. We seek a candidate who can collaborate with business leaders to determine training needs and develop effective plans. The Instructional Designer Specialist will create and maintain training materials and process documentation using programs within the Microsoft suite such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The ideal candidate should communicate effectively at a high level and possess advanced writing and computer skills. What You Will Be Doing
Partner with Training team members and Business Leaders to develop training that meets organizational needs Design and develop various training types, including course designs, job aids, participant guides, PowerPoints, and computer-based trainings Manage training projects from needs analysis through development and implementation Create assessment tools to measure learner knowledge, engagement, and performance Seek feedback to continuously improve training programs and materials Develop content such as technology announcements and surveys Analyze metrics to identify additional training opportunities Act as a backup trainer for various roles as needed What We Need From You
Must Have Qualifications:
3+ years of professional experience as an Instructional Designer Experience collaborating with IT team members and business leaders 3+ years of experience facilitating needs analyses Knowledge of the ADDIE training development model Proficiency with CBT software (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Vyond) Advanced experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication skills Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely Onsite attendance required Computer-related degree or equivalent experience Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Photoshop Nice To Have Qualifications
Previous training experience Knowledge of Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model Knowledge of the software development lifecycle 1+ year of project or vendor management experience The Place & The Perks
