$76,396.32 - $126,730.61 Hourly Rate:
$36.73 - $60.93 Unit Description: The Colorectal Surgery and Urology Unit consists of 22 semi-private rooms. This post-surgical setting cares for patients who have undergone colorectal and urologic surgery. Procedures performed on unit: Assist with chest tube insertion, central lines, wound vac changes, NG, Cortrak, catheter, indwelling catheters. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements, and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care, focusing on progress toward discharge, including transitions within the acute care stay. The nurse ensures that competent, compassionate patient care is provided to patients, referring facilities, and hospital staff in inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatments as required by policy and regulations. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions. Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care. Apply sound nursing judgment in care management decisions. Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered. Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients. Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain professional nursing standards. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree). Current NYS Registered Nurse license. Obtain and maintain certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC. Commitment to continuing education to improve job performance.
