A law firm seeks a skilled attorney to join its Employee Benefits practice group in Cape Girardeau, MO. The ideal candidate will bring 5-7 years of legal experience in ERISA, tax, and employee benefits law, with additional expertise in ESOPs or equity compensation being highly valued. This role requires a proactive individual with strong research, analytical, and communication skills, eager to work on complex cases and grow within a dynamic legal environment.
Duties
Conduct in-depth legal research and provide analysis to support litigation matters. Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, ensuring precision and clarity. Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. Manage and prioritize a broad and diverse caseload efficiently. Collaborate closely with partners on sophisticated and complex litigation issues. Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, judges, and other parties involved in the litigation process. Contribute to strategic discussions and case planning for ongoing matters. Requirements
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with strong academic performance. Active bar admission in the state of Missouri (or eligibility to obtain admission). 5-7 years of substantive legal experience in employee benefits or related fields. Proven ability to work autonomously while maintaining high productivity. Commitment to professional integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters. Education
Juris Doctorate from a reputable and accredited institution. Certifications
Active membership in the Missouri State Bar (or eligibility to apply). Skills
