Job Overview A reputable law firm in Stafford, TX is seeking an experienced and skilled Family Law Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and a commitment to delivering compassionate legal services. Location Stafford, TX Duties Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence. Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and orders. Provide sound legal advice to clients and develop strategies to resolve their legal matters. Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients during court hearings and trials. Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff for effective case management. Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in legal practice. Stay updated on family law developments and attend Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars. Requirements Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active membership in the Texas State Bar. 3-5 years of experience practicing family law in Texas. Strong knowledge of Texas family law statutes and case law. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong negotiation and litigation skills. Empathy and sensitivity in handling emotionally challenging client situations. Proficiency in legal research tools and software. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active membership in the Texas State Bar (required). Skills Family Law Expertise : In-depth knowledge of Texas family law, including divorce, custody, child support, and domestic violence. Legal Research & Drafting : Proficient in conducting legal research and drafting accurate, persuasive legal documents. Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively represent clients in court and negotiate settlements. Negotiation & Litigation : Proven skills in negotiating favorable outcomes and representing clients during hearings and trials. Case Management : Ability to effectively handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced legal environment. Client-Focused Approach : Strong empathy and sensitivity when working with clients during challenging personal circumstances.
