Provide a short description of the Position: NYSDOL Unemployment Insurance (UI); Division of Employment and Workforce Solutions (DEWS); Division of Safety and Health (DOSH); Division of Labor Standards; Unemployment Insurance System Improvement Modernization (UISIM) Design, Development, and Implementation (PRJ0250811); DOSH Forms and Electronic Payment Process Project (DMND0002790).
Provide a short description of the Position: This position will provide production support and enhancements to DOSH forms, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Workforce Integrated Profile Page (WIPP), Employment Services / Unemployment Insurance (ESUI), Labor Online Services (LOS), State Information Data Exchange (SIDES), Self-Employment Assistance Program (SEAP), TASK Management, and interfaces between UISIM and other assets. When time allows or DOL priorities shift, support daily Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) work related to NYSDOL’s critical applications and provide expertise for improving applications/processes for increased remote service demand.
Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Work as part of an agile development team on a complex employer account financial system, including designing and developing modules for receivables, fee and interest calculations, remittances, refunds, and fund reconciliation. Guide a team of developers in analyzing, designing, and developing integrated solutions. Assist in establishing and documenting standards and best practices for integration technologies. Mentor state staff developers in advanced programming techniques. Lead architectural design of applications, components, and services, including database modeling and business process analysis. Create and review sequence diagrams, define and validate service WSDLs and XSDs, and develop business process models. Implement SOA-based services and orchestrate system components into end-to-end business processes. Develop applications using J2EE, SOA architectures, and Agile methodologies, utilizing tools like Rational Application Developer, WebSphere Integration Developer, WebSphere Process Server, and WebSphere MQ Workflow. Perform composite application integration using EJB, SCA, JMS, and Web Services over an ESB. Analyze and develop rule sets with WODM, and develop data access layers using Hibernate. Write complex SQL and PLS/SQL queries for Oracle and DB2 databases, focusing on transaction management. Conduct testing, resolve defects, and create technical documentation. Evaluate new technologies through research, POCs, and POTs.
