Overview Project Controls, Staff designates work to be done and specified deadlines for completing tasks and deliverables. They utilize standard theories, concepts, and techniques in a specialized field. Responsible for aiding, tracking, monitoring status, controlling, and performing issue resolution throughout the project's life cycle. Provides solutions to a variety of problems. The what to do is defined, but how to do it is left up to the individual.
Responsibilities
Providing project planning and scheduling documentation to support project and customer requirements.
Providing planning and scheduling support for in-house or on-site work as required.
Assisting Team Leads, Superintendents, and the Project and Program Managers in tracking the projects against baseline schedules and budgets.
Preparing periodic management and/or customer reports and presentations as required.
Assisting on project proposal teams.
Creating and revising preliminary master schedules before project start, detailing the sequence of all work to be performed.
Assisting Project Managers in maintaining the Master schedule for each project, identifying and recording the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled.
Evaluating actual progress and providing regular schedule updates.
Interfacing with Operations to discuss impact of work and resolve problems.
Contributing to the development of working schedules for Estimating, prior to proposal date, illustrating the sequence of work activities and contract time.
Assisting in preparing and issuing proposals and preliminary schedules.
Incorporating Resource and/or Cost Loading data into schedules as required.
Consulting with project team members and estimating procedures to ensure proper planning before work begins.
Creating short-term schedules, monitoring their impact on the master schedule, and helping to correct scheduling problems.
Providing information on project schedule content, modifications, or presentation.
Staying current on advancements in scheduling software.
Continuously expanding professional knowledge and training skills to enhance team productivity.
Aiding Project Managers with the incorporation of fragments in the Project Schedule.
Scheduling and tracking equipment maintenance using CMMS software.
Qualifications 8+ years of experience with a High School Diploma, or 6+ years with an Associate degree, or 2+ years with a Bachelor's degree. Preferred but not required: Project Management Software (PM Online), in-house Software, AS400 (internal) CMMS software, Primavera P6 software.
Abilities
Exposure to computer screens for extended periods.
Sitting for extended periods.
Reaching by extending hands or arms.
Finger dexterity for manipulating objects like a keyboard.
Listening to and understanding spoken information.
Communicating ideas clearly in speech.
Reading and understanding written information.
Applying general rules to specific problems.
