Exempt The Senior Associate, Project Development Originator has the responsibility of originating distributed-level renewable projects and other emerging technologies projects (i.e. battery storage etc.) in the assigned market area(s). The Project Development Originator will be responsible for the completion and management of all project origination activities including project/site selection and contracting, land acquisition rights, ensuring selected sites meet applicable incentive program criteria, completing site due diligence, and supporting the completion of early stage development. Responsibilities: Perform the screening and selection of sites and project acquisition opportunities in the assigned markets, negotiating binding agreements with landowners and developers, assessing sites feasibility for permitting, construction and interconnection, providing relevant inputs for market and project-specific modeling, reporting on the progress of site and project acquisition to department management. Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations and program rules and ensure selected sites/projects are in compliance with those requirements. Support all aspects of project development as needed, ensuring that the company’s defined development processes are followed for all projects. Attend weekly development reviews and provide recommendations to management regarding projects development status, escalating necessary issues for resolution. Provide support for the review of all projects being acquired and or sold including the review of all site control documents, easements, permits, interconnection agreements, program qualifications, PILOT and tax assessments and all other related project assets. Ensure that all project level reporting is updated and accurate on a weekly basis in all project development systems. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience related to generation project development – specifically in terms of site screening/origination and landowner relations. Minimum of 2 years experience with contract provisions and terms, market knowledge, and regulatory issues. Minimum of 3 years Real Estate and/or project origination or development experience in energy projects, preferably renewable. Strong aptitude and experience using GIS-based tools and techniques to find and evaluate land and sites. Understanding of regulatory implications. Knowledge of project development related tasks, particularly permitting and interconnection. Requires effective listening, writing, and speaking skills such that communication is effective and concise in translating concepts and ideas. Pay range:

This position's annual base salary range in California and New York is $97,000 - $146,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
