The Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) is seeking independent investigators at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Transfusion Medicine. Candidates should have a track record of research productivity, extramural funding, and a commitment to education and mentorship. Responsibilities include developing an independent research program, clinical duties in transfusion medicine, and teaching opportunities. Responsibilities
Define and implement an externally funded research program. Perform clinical duties such as transfusion medicine consultations, QC/QA oversight, and cellular therapies. Maintain a publication record and contribute to the growth of VBRI's research programs. Mentor trainees and participate in teaching activities. Adhere to safety and regulatory standards. Qualifications
MD, DO, or PhD with board certification/eligibility in transfusion medicine. Experience level varies from 0-5 years for Assistant Professor, >5 years for Associate, >7 years for Professor. Strong research record with potential for extramural funding. Eligible for a faculty appointment at a local university/medical school. Skills and Certifications
Ability to establish collaborations and conduct independent research. Proficiency in laboratory tests and procedures. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Board certification in transfusion medicine and Wisconsin Medical License required. About VBRI
Located on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Campus, VBRI is the largest blood-focused research institute in the U.S., with a focus on transfusion medicine, cellular therapy, immunology, and hematologic malignancies.
