Business Development & Proposal Manager

18 hours ago Be among the first 25 applicants NearSpace Launch (NSL) seeks a mission-driven Business Development & Proposal Lead to lead and support the creation of compelling proposals for U.S. government opportunities especially with the Department of Defense (DoD), NASA, and other federal agencies. This individual will work closely with technical, business, and executive teams to draft winning proposals, manage submission timelines, and help align NSLs innovative satellite and communication solutions with national defense and space priorities. Key Responsibilities: Research, write, edit, and coordinate responses to RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, SBIR/STTRs, and Sole Source Justifications. Interpret federal solicitations and compliance requirements, ensuring all submissions meet formatting, content, and regulatory standards (e.g., FAR, DFARS). Collaborate with technical leads to translate complex aerospace solutions into persuasive, plain-language narratives. Develop boilerplate content, capabilities statements, past performance summaries, and white papers. Track federal contract opportunities (SAM.gov, DIBBS, NASA NSPIRES, etc.) and assist leadership in go/no-go decisions. Support and maintain NSLs presence on FedConnect, SAM.gov, and DIBBS. Assist with pricing narratives, subcontractor coordination, and cost justification documents. Work with strategic partners on joint proposals for educational outreach, and tech workforce initiatives. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Contracting, Public Policy, Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred). 35+ years of experience writing proposals for federal agencies preferably in aerospace, defense, or engineering industries. Proven success in securing government contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements. Familiarity with SBIR/STTR, Tech Hubs, AFWERX, SpaceWERX, or DIU programs is a plus. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and collaboration tools U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.
