Watershed Security is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Data Engineer & Application Support Specialist
to join our team supporting the Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) N6 Public Safety Systems (PSS) program. You will be responsible for ensuring designs are ready for transition, managing the technical aspects, and maintaining critical documentation and configuration control to support the PSS mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain ELK Stack deployments, including Elasticsearch clusters, Kibana dashboards, and data ingest pipelines using Logstash and NiFi.
Develop and optimize Kibana dashboards and visualizations for security monitoring, operational insights, and threat hunting.
Configure and manage alerting mechanisms within the ELK stack for real-time notifications of security incidents and system events.
Leverage Elastic Machine Learning to identify anomalies, detect threats, and improve security posture.
Contribute to system documentation and configuration management.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of relevant experience in:
ELK Stack design, implementation, and maintenance (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, NiFi).
Configuring alerting mechanisms and using Elastic Machine Learning for anomaly detection.
Troubleshooting ELK stack performance and issues.
SIEM solutions focusing on ELK.
Data pipeline development with tools like Apache NiFi.
Experience with automation tools such as Argo, Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform.
Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Experience in system design, transition, and documentation management.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, SAFe certifications).
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range: $110,000 - $130,000 USD. Watershed offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, educational reimbursement, 401K matching, PTO, and paid holidays.
