We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Pastoral Care. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the department of Spiritual Care at NYU Langone Health-Manhattan and conducting Clinical Pastoral Education programs according to Association for Clinical Pastoral Education standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and execute a systemic, multi-staff model for the provision of pastoral/spiritual care service. Ensure the delivery of a complete program of spiritual care to patients, their loved ones, and staff of all faith traditions. Supervise and facilitate the work of those delivering spiritual care, including employees of the institution, educators, and chaplains appointed to the Spiritual Care Department by faith communities. Conduct yearly performance reviews as appropriate. Coordinate clergy, pastoral visitors, and volunteers from the religious community. Serve on institutional committees such as ethics and Institutional Review Board as appointed. Oversee the use and maintenance of the spiritual care offices and meditation room. Develop and maintain proper administration procedures for the department in accordance with institutional policy. Work closely with the educator to ensure a well-developed Clinical Pastoral Education program is developed according to the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education standards. Support an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care. Participate in team meetings and rounds. Promote an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care among all chaplains. Document all chaplaincy activities in a timely manner according to department protocols. Ensure a comprehensive practice of conducting initial visits and individual spiritual assessments with as many patients as possible. Establish a means for effective risk screening to identify individuals whose spiritual/theological conflicts may compromise treatment, recovery, or whole person health. Develop efficiency reports for the department of spiritual care. Participate in the department's plan for continuous quality improvement. Participate in teaching/lecturing on a regular or periodic basis as invited. Participate and/or help lead in program and administrative activities of the institution, including but not limited to TEAMLavender and Bereavement Program. Participate in regular professional development activities and supervision. Participate in the planning and administration of the overall training program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify, you must have a Master's Degree and a minimum of 4 units of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Recent experience working in a healthcare environment and knowledge of HCAHPS and the CAHPS Patient Satisfaction surveys is preferred. Experience leading professionals in improvement programs. Knowledge of instructional design and health literacy for the healthcare setting. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
