A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its Hicksville, New York office. Duties
Manage and represent clients in insurance defense cases, including but not limited to premises liability, construction defects, personal injury, and professional liability claims. Lead and handle litigation from inception to trial, providing expert legal advice and representation. Take depositions, draft legal pleadings, and engage in discovery processes. Prepare and argue motions, attend hearings, and represent clients in court proceedings. Collaborate closely with senior attorneys, clients, and colleagues to devise and implement case strategies. Participate in settlement negotiations and provide sound legal advice to clients on potential outcomes. Continuously build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communication. Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, particularly in insurance defense matters. Proven trial experience, with a desire to take on front-line trial responsibilities.
Licensing:
Active membership in the New York State Bar, in good standing.
Skills:
Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities. Proficiency in legal research, drafting motions, and case management.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications
An active member of the New York State Bar. Skills
Expertise in insurance defense law, including handling premises liability, construction defects, and personal injury claims. Strong litigation, negotiation, and trial skills.
