Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to become an integral part of our expanding HR team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering and nurturing robust relationships with designated operational areas and employee groups. This role primarily supports management and supervisors in labor relations, employee relations, HR policies and procedures, performance management, workforce planning, and recruitment.
Responsibilities
Collaborate proactively with managers and supervisors to anticipate and resolve issues, guide decision-making processes, and assist in preparing corrective actions, facilitating involuntary terminations, and communications. Apply employment standards and legislation to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency within the organization. Provide employee relations support and coaching in HR practices such as attendance and investigations of complaints and misconduct. Recommend practices to establish positive employer-employee relationships and promote high employee morale and motivation. Advise managers on the steps in the company's progressive discipline system and counsel them on employment issues. Ensure completion of new employee performance evaluations and assist or coach supervisors and managers as needed. Participate in employee coaching and feedback sessions. Support and participate in the recruitment process of production associates, including reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, facilitating consensus-building, and making hiring recommendations. Monitor organizational culture to support company goals and promote employee satisfaction.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, or Human Resources Management preferred. 5-7 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on employee relations and full cycle recruitment. Experience in a unionized environment with regular contract/CBA interpretation. Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies to drive business operations improvements. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills. Experience in diverse and multicultural business environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Human resources expertise, including data entry, customer service, HR support, and full-cycle recruiting. Experience with HR administration, payroll, HR systems, employee benefits, FMLA, and talent management.
Work Environment
The successful candidate will report to the HR Director and work closely with two other HR generalists. The HR team is a close-knit group that collaborates effectively. The dress code is business casual, with jeans acceptable daily.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $43.27/hr.
