Michael Foods, Inc., located in Gaylord, Minnesota, is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south-central Minnesota, about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Job Summary:
The Payroll Supervisor supervises Payroll Administrators, ensuring that all processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner. Acts as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues, continuously seeking improvements in operational processes, designing, and implementing those initiatives. Optimizes the teams contribution through coaching and counseling, and implements workable solutions to business issues with minimal management referral. This position is responsible for ensuring safety work rules are followed at all times and for reinforcing Safety as a Core Value. Ensures all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed to reduce product and process variability. Job Responsibilities
Lead and review the day-to-day operations of the Payroll team, ensuring process accuracy; payroll, Concur, and general ledger activities are performed as required, and compliance with corporate policies and SOX. Supervise payroll staff: monitor workload, ensure appropriate coverage, evaluate performance, and support skill development. Maintain payroll control documentation and train team members on new or updated procedures and policies. Partner with Human Resources and management on payroll, Concur, and general ledger inquiries; identify and resolve issues. Facilitate payroll team meetings as needed. Provide guidance and share knowledge with colleagues and team members. Escalate potential service issues to Finance and HR. Manage work within budgetary guidelines. Develop, guide, train, and monitor the Payroll team; participate in hiring and performance evaluations. Define standards, controls, and reusable approaches within the Payroll operations framework. Identify process improvement initiatives and establish standard operating procedures. Provide backup coverage for team members during vacations or high-volume periods. Implement quality control measures. Limited travel may be required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience:
Minimum 5 years in payroll or HRIS, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Licenses, Certificates, Registrations:
CPP preferred. Other Skills and Abilities: Experience with payroll/HRIS system review, analysis, and implementation/conversion preferred. Strong analytical skills and advanced business analytics experience preferred. Proven project management ability. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in teams, handle multiple tasks, and solve problems effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with coworkers, management, and vendors. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Willingness to learn new technology and software. Attention to data integrity, accuracy, and detail orientation. Kronos and UltiPro (UKG) experience is a plus. The pay range for this position is $70,386 - $98,541 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
