It also evaluates and improves medical countermeasures, follows the DoD's roadmap for their development, and ensures their ethical use, including FDA approval. The Division also explores expanding indications and combinations with existing countermeasures. The staff member will capture and integrate the biological and small molecule chemical data to support data entry into the database and provide expertise in assessments of the data that will enable down selecting drug candidates and drive the therapeutic product development against biothreat agents. This position is contingent upon contract award. Duties/Responsibilities : Assess the workflow of high-throughput screening platform and identify the requirements and relevant fields to capture the chemical and biological data attributes that will support the configuration of a searchable database. Support migration of the screening, chemical and ADME data into the database and management of the data in the database, while providing first in class analytical and reporting tools to drive decisions of down selecting promising small molecules for product development. Perform self-directed exploration and analysis of the dataset generated from the phenotypic screens, including use of relevant R packages, spreadsheets, graphics and statistical programs that will help predict the behavior of a complex biological system or mechanistic basis for physiological and pathological responses to infection or therapeutic treatment, and that can be employed to design of the new or better drugs that are specific to the pathogen. Apply their computational skills and biological background to develop computational tools that will support better approaches to integrate the screening data and metadata associated with the biological assays or chemical.
