Working autonomously, this person acts as a mentor to lower level peers and provides guidance on tasks. Makes recommendations for process improvements. Works on assignments requiring development of concepts and techniques.Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve explaining complex assignments, solving problems and initiating process improvements. Makes recommendations for new procedures.Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.Essential Functions:Execute property management activities to ensure accountability for Government Property in accordance with applicable FAR, DFARS, and other USG customer specific requirements and internal procedures.Accurately maintain Government property records, regarding acquisition, receiving, identification, record keeping, movement, storage, inventories, consumption, utilization, maintenance, subcontractor control.Prepare Government property inventory reports for Government Property Specialist submittal.Inaccuracy of these records could result in the loss of the privilege to store Government property at our facility.Responsible for the coordination, process and control of all material storage and movement in and out of Government Furnished Stores.Responsible for the record keeping of all Government / Customer owned property for the Division.Interface with other departments as required ensuring control and coordinate for efficient material flow.Unpack material received and assure that it properly stored, and all relevant transactions are done on the MRP system to show the location of the material.Select and issue material to the production floor according to production requirements and operation packet instructions.Primary point of contact for USG agencies including DCMA and DCAA for reporting, audit responses, and other property relevant customer requirements and requests.Operate equipment required to handle, protect and deliver government material in performance of duties. Operate forklift or transporter to receive, deliver, and pick up stock and parts or assemblies. Exercise driving and handling precautions beyond normal driving and handling.Submit property administrative reports to customer stakeholders and regulatory agencies, e.g. Loss, Damage, Destruction (LDD), Inventory Results, etc.Continuously improve processes, procedures and systems for effective and efficient management of Government/Customer property.Provide input into new processes, standards and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function or business results.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesQualifications:Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.Good interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance which requires US CitizenshipWorking knowledge of how Stores/Material departments operate and knowledge of how Shipping and Receiving operates.Working knowledge of warehouse control, inventory control, and related duties.Ability to analyze information gathered to identify potential problems or discrepancies.Preferred Additional Skills:Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration preferred. Leadership skills and ability to manage staff. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills.
