Since 2016, Correctional Health Services (CHS) has been the direct provider of healthcare in NYC jails. We are committed to human dignity and patient rights, offering comprehensive clinical services including medical, mental health, pharmacy, substance-use treatment, social work, dental, vision, discharge planning, and reentry support. We are seeking qualified health professionals for our Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units (OTxHU), located in NYC hospitals, to provide high-quality care for patients in custody with complex health conditions. The OTxHU at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue is scheduled to open by the end of 2024, representing a groundbreaking approach to healthcare access for incarcerated individuals. Position Overview
This full-time role reports to the Deputy Director of Mental Health and oversees clinical operations, management, and treatment development for incarcerated individuals. Responsibilities include ensuring clinical integrity, supervising staff, managing patient care, and providing direct clinical care to complex cases. Responsibilities
Develop and evaluate mental health programs and procedures. Lead staff training and foster a culture of clinical excellence. Provide supervision and review of clinical staff and documentation. Conduct multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate patient care. Participate in quality assurance initiatives. Manage personnel, including recruitment, mentorship, and disciplinary actions. Devote at least 20% of time to direct clinical care, including supervision of trainees. Qualifications
Valid license and current registration in a mental health discipline by NYSED. Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare or regulatory agency, with at least one year in an administrative or supervisory role. Preferred Skills
Expertise in psychopathology and mental health assessment. Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills. Leadership ability to mentor staff. Ph.D./Psy.D. in Psychology, LCSW, or LMHC. Experience in correctional or institutional settings. Application Process
