Basic Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a master’s degree plus 8 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Lead a team of engineers at General Dynamics Mission Systems, utilizing advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native, and Quantum Physics to develop solutions for cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar, and other missions. Oversee quality assurance teams in designing, implementing, and maintaining quality protocols for processing materials into finished products, including inspection, testing, and evaluation activities, as well as continuous improvement initiatives.

What you bring to the table:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field plus minimum 10 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience
Current ASNT Level 3 Certification in Ultrasonics (Radiography Level 3 Film and Digital certification a plus)
Expertise in domain methodologies, tools, and standards
Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, ISO 14001, ASME, ANSI, EIA standards
Proficiency with inspection and measurement tools and techniques
Knowledge of government regulations

In the Nondestructive Test Lab:
Develop NDT inspection procedures for customer approval
Train and certify ultrasonic inspection technicians
Maintain certification records
Lead customer and internal audits
Develop ultrasonic calibration standards compliant with customer and industry standards
Maintain NAS 410 certification
Manage ultrasonic equipment operations and maintenance
Order and support NDT equipment and supplies
Estimate scope of work and bid for NDT projects
Represent the company in all NDT-related interfaces
Maintain VA State X-ray licenses
Oversee daily NDT operations for multiple programs
Calibrate ultrasonic flaw detectors and C-scan equipment

Salary Range:
USD $154,737.80 - USD $171,662.20 per year, based on experience and location.
