Product Owner, for Point of Sales(POS) and Payments, serves as the voice of the customer to guide development teams in building software capabilities with the highest business and customer impact. They are considered an expert in their field as well as the applications they support and are often sought out by other teams to assist in product delivery. The Product Owner represents business needs and priorities, prioritizes and manages the product backlog, assigns points to stories based on their knowledge of the system, recommends developers for backlog items based on knowledge of the developers experience, and incorporates feedback from business stakeholders to guide continuous product improvement. They are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes for one or more products of low to high complexity. Responsibilities You would be the functional expert in Dollar General IT Product Management for Point Of Sale, specializing in payments and payment processing. The primary responsibility for this role is to own the POS payment and processing roadmap, prioritization of work, requirements gathering, and delivering expertise in payments technology across all DG teams. You would partner with the DG POS and payments vendors to develop capabilities that advance DG's strategic objectives. You would own the payments prioritization process, roadmap, and work with the Store Selling Technology Product Manager to define metrics and prioritized delivery for the broader Store Selling Technology roadmap. You would work across all teams at DG as a product expert in payment terminals, payment programs (like eWIC, NationsBenefit, etc…), and current and future POS technology Qualifications 4+ years of relevant experience in IT, Retail technology 4+ years of software delivery experience related to POS and Payments to include payment technology and payment processing, etc. 3+ years in diverse roles and increasing responsibilities across business and IT CSPO roles desirable 3+ years working in or with Agile software delivery teams using tools such as JIRA and Confluence Applicable Product Owner certifications (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner Certification) Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent experience Seniority level
