Role Overview

The Threat Management Center (TMC) is the first line of defense for Verizon's networks and information systems. The Advanced Cyber Defense (TMC-ACD) team responds to, investigates, hunts, and manages incidents to protect Verizon's employees, customers, brand, and revenue. This position involves proactive threat hunting, incident response, and mitigation across Verizon’s on-premises and cloud environments. Responsibilities

Execute the Incident Response Lifecycle to remediate threats and improve defenses. Serve as a trusted advisor during incidents, following frameworks like NIST. Respond promptly to incidents during on-call shifts to minimize downtime. Use security tools, logs, and forensic analysis to assess threats. Develop security controls and automate responses using advanced techniques. Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Analyze high-priority incidents, prepare reports, and facilitate discussions. Identify detection gaps and collaborate to improve security posture. Recommend enhancements to prevent and defend against threats. Collaborate with teams to analyze root causes of incidents. Conduct risk assessments and forensic investigations. Improve DFIR playbooks for consistent response. Produce operational reviews and assessments of DFIR effectiveness. Continuously develop skills and techniques in digital forensics. Enhance workflows and processes for security and compliance. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or four+ years of relevant experience. Experience in Digital Forensics, Incident Response, or SOC environments. Ability to obtain security clearance. Preferred Skills and Certifications

Knowledge of adversarial frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain. Understanding of the cyber threat landscape. Experience with analysis techniques, threat hunting, and intrusion detection. Scripting and programming skills for automation. Experience with log platforms like Splunk, Elastic, etc. Knowledge of Windows, Unix/Linux, and MacOS architectures. Leadership and mentoring abilities. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CEH, GCFA, etc., or cloud security certifications. Additional Details

This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote work and in-office days. The scheduled weekly hours are 40. The salary range is $101,000 - $194,000 depending on location and experience. Employment Details
