Senior Railroad Operations Project Manager
who will: Develop operating plans for freight and passenger rail projects. Create and deliver planning documents, reports, and presentations describing rail operations. Advise and mentor Rail Traffic Controller (RTC) modelers, support RTC model development, and analyze outputs. Provide rail operations expertise to internal teams and clients. Maintain client relationships with freight railroads and public agencies. Participate in industry associations and lead proposal efforts. Ensure quality, scope, schedule, and budget adherence. The candidate should have extensive experience in freight rail planning, understanding of national traffic patterns, operational practices, regulatory requirements, and market strategies. Excellent communication skills and proactive engagement are essential. Preferred qualifications include broad knowledge of U.S. and Canadian freight rail operations, experience with Class I or II railroads, at least 15 years in the industry, familiarity with passenger rail interactions, and experience with project documentation and grant applications. Knowledge of RTC modeling is a plus. Travel may be up to 50%. Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field. 10+ years of related experience. At least 5 years of project management experience. This position is based in Omaha, NE, with multiple other U.S. locations.
