Job Overview:
As part of the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Tax Accounting Group, which is a Center of Excellence for North America, the Senior Tax Accounting Analyst will be responsible for tax accounting functions necessary to ensure income taxes are properly accounted for pursuant to IAS 12 including the preparation of tax provision calculations, interpreting tax and accounting regulations and the development of disclosures for financial reporting. In addition to these core responsibilities, the senior will also assist in the tax accounting team's testing and reporting of internal controls. While the senior will not have any assigned direct reports, they will be responsible for working with, reviewing the work of, and all the technical development of more junior tax accounting analysts. The supervisor must assist in recording and reporting financial transactions, including the origination of the transaction, its recognition, processing and summarization in the financial statements.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the tax accounting packages required for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of income taxes for various North American groups entities, including preparing and submitting secondary information to support actuals and be able to respond to questions from internal and external customers using the submitted data. May detail review the work performed by other members of the team. (30%) Prepares income tax-related journal entries and footnote disclosures by collecting and analyzing relevant financial information. May detail review work performed by other members of the team. (20%) Ensures ICFR compliance to support Management's assessment on the effectiveness of internal controls related to the accounting processes. (10%) Assist with preparation of consolidated and stand-alone financial statements including income tax footnote disclosures and support workpapers required for interaction with external auditors. (10%) Is the technology point person for the tax accounting team with respect to updates and efficiencies of existing software solutions. (10%) Guide Management's decisions by examining tax accounting consequences of various financial options. (10%) Performs research, support and documentation needed for quarterly and yearly auditing activities. (10%)
Qualifikationen
Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
This position requires a minimum of 8+ years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:
Accounting: 5 years Finance: 3 years Tax: 3 years
Education:
Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree preferred. Recommended majors include:

Required certifications: Certified Public Accounting (CPA)
Additional Knowledge:
Overall understanding of federal and state income tax concepts Broad exposure to IFRS/U.S. GAAP income tax provisions Strong analytical and interpersonal skills Corptax and SAP experience desired

Job Overview:
